(1927 -   )

Mr. Ding, born in September 1927, native of Zhenjiang, Jiangsu Province, member of China Democratic League(CDL) and of Communist Party of China (CPC), graduated from Mathematics Department of Qinghua University, professor.

Served as Assistant Professor, Lecturer, Professor, Deputy Director and Director of Mathematics Department of Beijing University, 1952-83, President of Beijing University, 1984-88,Vice Chairman of Central Committee of CDL and President of Beijing University, 1988-89; member of Academic Degrees Committee under State Council and Vice-President of Chinese Education Association for International Exchanges, 1989-96; Chairman of CDL Central Committee since 1996.

Elected member of Seventh National Committee of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), member of Standing Committee of Eighth CPPCC National Committee, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the Ninth National People's Congress (NPC).
