Fu Quanyou
(1930- ) General Fu, born in November 1930, native of Yuanping, Shanxi Province, joined Communist Party of China (CPC) in August, 1947, joined the army in October 1946, college graduate, general. Served as deputy platoon leader, platoon leader and company commander of Northwest Field Army, 1947-48; chief of staff, battalion commander, 1951-58. Graduated from Higher Military Academy of People's Liberation Army (PLA) in 1961, Regiment Chief of Staff and Deputy Regiment Commander, 1961-65; Deputy Division Chief of Dtaff, Chief of Staff and Deputy Division Commander, 1965-78; Division Commander and Army Chief of Staff, 1978-83; Army Commander of PLA Ground Force, 1983-85; Commander of PLA Lanzhou Military Area Command, 1990-92; member of Central Military Commission, Director of PLA general Logistics Department, 1992-95. Chief of PLA General Staff since 1995. Added to the 12 CPC Central Committee as a member, and elected member of 13th, 14th and 15th CPC Central Committee. General Fu was a member of the Central Military Commission (CMC) between 1998-2003.
