Just
before the World Drug Day (International Day Against Drug Abuse and
Illicit Trafficking is on June 26 of every year), on 9pm of
June 24, 2003, under the agreement of China justice authorities and
the death penalty prisoners, a photographer entered
Whuan
(the Capital City of
Hubei Province) No. 1
Detention Center and spent the last 12 hours with female drug dealers
and took some pictures. As drug traffic is regarded as capital
criminal offence in China, they had been sentenced to death and
would be executed the next morning. These pictures record what they
experienced during the last 12 hours of their lives.
